Although Charmer's record seems to take an almost formulaic approach to the midwest emo sound, they do itvery well: The intro guitar riffs, the drum fills, lyrics about lost love. Sometimes what you expect to hear is exactly what you want to hear. Charmer's debut release has been dubbed "the definition of midwest emo" because of this. The album is a great listen for music fans, a must-listen for emo fans, and a big part in the history of UP music.
